This is someone I personally feel, is a better lifter [edit; TECHNICIAN] than Ilya Ilin.
Reason being is because he had a back injury he was nursing. And he was training for a very very short time before these worlds. A friend of mine, who's his former roommate didn't even think he would be competing.
Had Ruslan just have one extra week of training, things may have been different.
Just look at how much legs this guy uses when he snatches. Incredible. Just friggin incredible. If anyone ever tells you "Use your legs!" and you can't understand it, just watch this video.
Looking forward to meeting this guy and training with him and his coaches next year.
Ruslan Nurudinov (-105kg, Uzbekistan) snatching 193kg/425lb to win the snatch gold at the 2014 WWC. He later C&Jed a world record (at the time) 239kg/527lb to post a total of 432kg. He ended up taking 2nd overall (tied on total, lost on bodyweight) to Ilya Ilyin -\-\ narrowly missing out on defending his 2013 WWC title.
